University teaching

The following section outlines mathematics modules that I have assisted in teaching while in Bristol.

2023-24:

  • First year : ODEs, Curves and Dynamics.
  • Third year : Quantum Mechanics.

Maths Circles

From 2024 onwards, I have been the Head Tutor at the Maths Circles run in Bristol by We Solve Problems. The charity works across the United Kingdom and aims to raise the national standard of mathematics by providing teaching and activities to bright and interested children.

Maths Circles are free maths-loving sessions for secondary school pupils. They encourage and develop structured thinking and problem-solving skills, and are aimed at cultivating children’s abilities to articulate ideas and construct rigorous proofs.

YouTube

I run a YouTube channel as a hobby, on which I have produced videos explaining many interesting topics in mathematics and physics. The length of these videos varies but typically last between thirty minutes and an hour. As such, they often comprise short lecture series on particular topics, and make for a good introduction to research level topics. They are intended to be accessible to anyone with a basic understanding of calculus and linear algebra.

You can find my channel here.

Topics that I have covered include:

  • The Casimir effect
  • Dynamical systems, bifurcation theory and critical slowing down
  • Topology in quantum mechanics
  • Particle physics
